The Winpisinger Center will begin offering Online Steward Training on October 1, following the positive response to its previous online training programs. The initiative is aimed at new shop stewards who are unable to attend in-person sessions at the center.

“This initiative is another step forward in expanding our members’ access to quality union education, no matter where they live or work,” said Winpisinger Center Director Mary McHugh.

The training program is available to all members in good standing who serve as stewards. It will be conducted over three consecutive weeks, with each session lasting two hours and covering two key topics. Sessions are scheduled for multiple days and times each week, allowing participants to select a slot that fits their schedules.

The first week focuses on the role of the steward and their rights and responsibilities. The second week addresses grievances and investigations, while the third week covers just cause and discipline cases as well as contract cases and past practice.

Members can register for the Online Steward Training through the provided registration page or via links distributed by the organization. Inquiries about the program can be sent to the Winpisinger Center using an online form.
