Visit St. Pete-Clearwater has launched a new initiative to encourage travelers to use their remaining paid time off (PTO) before the end of the year. The program offers up to $250 in gift cards for those who book stays through VisitSPC.com/PTO and travel by the end of 2025.

According to a recent study from the Society for Human Resource Management, nearly half of U.S. employees expect to leave vacation days unused this year. Visit St. Pete-Clearwater is hoping to change that trend by providing an incentive for people to take time off and visit Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Travelers booking directly on the official site will receive $50 in gift cards for every vacation day used, with a maximum reward of $250 for five nights. Steve Grimes, Chief Marketing Officer at Visit St. Pete-Clearwater, said, “Don’t let your PTO go to waste when there’s still time to take a beach break. Fall and early winter is the sweet spot here – perfect weather, lots of events, and now, we’re giving you a little extra spending money for that sunset meal or night out on the town.”

The destination promotes its warm climate during fall and early winter as an alternative for those looking to escape colder weather elsewhere in the country.

In addition to the gift card incentive, visitors can access discounts at over 50 local attractions, restaurants, and shops through the FunShine Savings Passport—a free digital pass available online.

St. Pete-Clearwater is known for its white-sand beaches and cultural experiences along Florida’s west coast.
