Visit Sarasota County (VSC) has launched a new winter marketing campaign called “Share the Sunshine,” aimed at attracting visitors to the region during the peak tourism season. The campaign highlights local beaches, outdoor dining, and abundant sunlight through digital advertising and storytelling efforts that will continue until mid-January.
The initiative directs potential travelers to a dedicated landing page filled with blogs and content about local attractions, sightseeing opportunities, and holiday-themed events that showcase the area’s coastal character. The website also promotes VSC’s new Seasons of Sunshine mobile pass, a free platform offering curated monthly highlights from Venice to Sarasota to Longboat Key.
Erin Duggan, President and CEO at Visit Sarasota County, said: “It’s our role to create campaigns that don’t just follow a calendar but are created with input from our local businesses and residents, and this seasonal marketing program plays strongly into this approach. Our invite to potential visitors is simple: you don’t have to suffer the cold, because a trip to our region is all it takes to take in the sunshine – and we’ve got an abundance to share.”
The campaign targets residents in colder cities such as Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, and Washington D.C., as well as people living in Florida drive markets like Fort Myers, Naples, Miami, Orlando, and West Palm Beach. It encourages both day trips and weekend getaways during the winter months. This effort marks the first use of VSC’s annual marketing theme “Your Season, Year Round,” which positions Sarasota as an appealing destination throughout every season.
Visit Sarasota County serves as the official tourism marketing organization for Sarasota County. It works with more than 450 partners to promote tourism—the area’s leading industry—and supports local businesses and employment year-round. The organization is accredited by the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program of Destination Management Association International.
