The Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach has added two new retailers to its tenant roster. ScandyCandy, a Swedish candy store founded by brothers Calle and Wille Olsed, opened on Saturday. La Coqueta, a British childrenswear boutique led by founder and creative director Celia Muñoz, began operations last month at The Current, a retail hub within the plaza, according to announcements from the landlord.

ScandyCandy’s Palm Beach location is its second in the United States; the first is located at 241 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. La Coqueta also operates a store in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Royal Poinciana Plaza was originally developed in the 1950s and spans 192,000 square feet. It features luxury retail space, gardens, and two courtyards. WS Development, based in Boston, holds the leasehold for the plaza. Property records show that ownership belongs to a trust led by Sidney Spiegel. The address of the plaza is 340 Royal Poinciana Way. Details regarding the size of space leased by ScandyCandy and La Coqueta were not disclosed.

In another recent leasing transaction in South Florida, Herman Law expanded its headquarters at 1800 North Military Trail in Boca Raton. The law firm now occupies 18,000 square feet at this location—an increase from its previous 10,000-square-foot office—according to a spokesperson for Herman Law. The firm specializes in representing survivors of sexual abuse and employs about 200 people across eight offices nationwide, including locations in New York City; Buffalo; Los Angeles; San Diego; Sacramento; and soon Baltimore.

Joe Freitas of CBRE represented the landlord for this lease agreement.

The four-story office building at 1800 North Military Trail is part of Boca Center’s mixed-use complex. In 2022, Macquarie Capital | Principal Finance partnered with Vanderbilt Office Properties to acquire most of Boca Center for $261.5 million; their purchase included paying $76.1 million for this particular building as part of that transaction. Macquarie Capital is an investment division of Sydney-based Macquarie Group under CEO Shemara Wikramanayake. Vanderbilt Office Properties is headquartered in Chicago and led by CEO Casey Wold.
