Florida Panthers forward Sam Reinhart has purchased a waterfront home in Sea Ranch Lakes from soccer player Sergio Busquets for $9 million. The transaction took place three months after Busquets listed the property for $9.8 million, according to public records.

Reinhart and his wife, Jessica Jewel, acquired the residence at 7 Seneca Road through a deal facilitated by Veroushka Maclean Volkert of One Sotheby’s International Realty and Vilma Datorre of Datorre Realty Group, who held the listing. Betsy Rauch with VG Luxury Properties Realty represented the buyer.

Reinhart began his NHL career in 2014 with the Buffalo Sabres before joining the Florida Panthers in 2021. He played a key role in helping the team secure consecutive Stanley Cup victories in 2024 and 2025.

Busquets, regarded as one of soccer’s top defensive midfielders, spent much of his career at FC Barcelona prior to joining Inter Miami alongside Lionel Messi in 2023. He retired from professional soccer in December.

Busquets and his wife, Elena Galera, had purchased the Sea Ranch Lakes home for $8.7 million in 2023. Built that same year on a lot measuring about 0.3 acres, the house spans approximately 7,100 square feet and features seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, one half-bathroom, and offers about 100 feet of frontage on Lake Seneca.

Sea Ranch Lakes is a gated community located just outside Fort Lauderdale. The village covers only about 0.2 square miles and is almost entirely enclosed by walls. It maintains its own police force and mayor, consists of fewer than 200 homes, and provides residents access to a private beach club.

The area’s exclusivity and privacy have attracted various professional athletes over time.

“It’s very chill. We’ve had NFL players, NBA players, race car drivers, executives,” Volkert told The Real Deal in 2023. “People are respectful, and it’s private, and they respect their privacy.”

Recent sales activity has highlighted rising interest from high-profile buyers; another home on Seneca Road sold for $13 million last October—a record for the neighborhood—and a waterfront property at 34 Minnetonka Road is currently listed for $20 million by Compass agent Tim Elmes.
