Several South Florida real estate firms announced new hires and team changes on Mar. 18, reflecting a period of high activity in the region’s property market.
The movement of agents comes as the area experiences its busiest season, with multiple professionals switching companies or joining new teams. These changes are seen as significant for both the agents involved and the firms seeking to strengthen their presence in key markets.
David Hunt Solomon has joined Coldwell Banker Realty after spending 14 years at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty. According to a news release, Solomon has closed more than $500 million in career sales and was responsible for brokering Stuart Miller’s $49.5 million sale of a Star Island waterfront home in 2020. His wife, Jacqueline Oliva, is also joining Coldwell Banker as an agent.
Douglas Elliman’s Hilda Jacobson has moved to Compass. A news release states that Jacobson began her real estate career in 2003 and specializes in Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Pinecrest, and Miami Beach markets. She closed $18 million in sales last year and had been with Elliman since 2014.
In Delray Beach, Premier Estate Properties added Jerilyn Walter and Jaime Smith to its roster. Walter previously served as broker and owner of Posh Properties for 14 years, overseeing $1 billion in sales across Palm Beach and Broward counties.
Real Brokerage expanded its tri-county presence by bringing on the Sandra Rathe Team—a group of 20 agents led by Sandra Rathe—which sees $135 million in annual sales volume according to a news release. Rathe is based in Fort Lauderdale and spent nearly a decade at Keller Williams.
In development news, BGI Companies hired Matthew Marks as vice president of development and construction. Marks will oversee projects including Alba Palm Beach and other condos planned for a recently acquired waterfront site valued at $40.9 million. He joins BGI from Moss & Associates where he worked for almost twelve years.
