Inter Miami midfielder Sergio Busquets has listed his waterfront home in Sea Ranch Lakes, near Fort Lauderdale, for $9.8 million. The move comes as Busquets prepares to retire from Major League Soccer at the end of this year.
Busquets and his wife, Elena Galera, purchased the seven-bedroom property at 7 Seneca Road in 2023 for about $8.7 million. That transaction set a record for Sea Ranch Lakes, a small town located roughly five miles from Inter Miami’s stadium in Fort Lauderdale. The house was built in 2023 and spans 7,100 square feet on a 0.3-acre lot with approximately 100 feet of lake frontage on Lake Seneca. Features include six-and-a-half bathrooms and a three-car garage.
The listing is held by Veroushka Volkert of One Sotheby’s International Realty, who also represented the couple during their initial purchase.
Busquets recently told reporters he plans to take time off before considering a coaching career: “I think in the future, yes [I’d want to be a coach], but for now I’d rather take a sabbatical,” he said. “It’s a long time, with hardly any weekends. … You want to enjoy time with your family, time for me, for them, seeing my children, being with them, traveling more, watching football from a different perspective.”
Before joining Inter Miami alongside Lionel Messi, Busquets played for FC Barcelona from 2008 until his move to MLS. Messi also resides nearby; last year he and his wife bought an eight-bedroom estate in Fort Lauderdale’s Bay Colony neighborhood for $10.8 million and own additional luxury condos in Sunny Isles Beach.
Inter Miami is currently advancing work on its new $1 billion mixed-use stadium development near Miami International Airport after securing $450 million in financing from JPMorgan Chase earlier this year.
