Retired National Football League player Rob Konrad purchased a new waterfront home in Ocean Ridge, upgrading to a larger property on the same street just two months after surviving for 16 hours at sea. Konrad, who previously played for the Miami Dolphins and now works as a financial adviser, sold his former house at 19 Harbour Drive and bought another at 10 Harbour Drive.
Konrad sold his previous four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom house for $5 million. He and his wife, Tammy, had acquired it in 2019 for nearly $2 million. The sale represents an increase of about 150 percent over their purchase price. The house was built in 2002 on a lot measuring about 0.2 acres and featured amenities such as a pool and dock.
The couple’s new residence is also a four-bedroom home but offers more space at approximately 4,400 square feet on a larger lot of about 0.4 acres. Designed by Randall Stofft and constructed in 2022, the property includes a waterfront pool but does not appear to have its own dock. Jeffrey and Galen Giannetti were listed as the sellers according to property records.
Matthew Moser and Nick Gonzalez of The Matt and Nick Team at Serhant represented Konrad during the purchase transaction, while Candace and Phil Friis from The Corcoran Group acted for the sellers. Moser also represented the buyer of Konrad’s previous home with John Stauffenberg from Serhant representing Konrad during that sale.
Earlier this year, Konrad fell off his boat roughly nine miles from shore near Ocean Ridge and swam an estimated twenty-seven miles over sixteen hours before being rescued; authorities from the Bahamas later recovered his vessel.
Ocean Ridge is described as a small barrier island town near Boynton Beach within Palm Beach County covering around two square miles. In recent years it has seen several significant real estate transactions including what is believed to be its highest-priced sale: in 2021, when a land trust paid $27 million for an oceanfront mansion on North Ocean Boulevard.
