Major League Baseball pitcher Max Scherzer and his wife, Erica, have listed their custom-built home in Jupiter’s Admiral’s Cove for $36 million. The property is being marketed by Holly Meyer Lucas, Kimberly Thomson, and Courtney Payne of Compass.

The couple purchased the site at 217 Commodore Drive in 2023 for $14.9 million. The location is on the same street as another waterfront property they acquired in 2020 for $9.8 million. Construction on their new home was nearly complete when they decided to sell.

A source told the New York Post that the decision came after the Scherzers toured Atlantic Fields, a Discovery Land Company development in Hobe Sound. They were drawn to that community and chose to put their Jupiter project on the market.

The Jupiter house is expected to be finished next winter. It will feature five bedrooms, eight and a half bathrooms, and 325 feet of wraparound frontage along the Intracoastal Waterway. Amenities include a new seawall, a dock suitable for an 88-foot boat, an infinity pool, and a summer kitchen with a pizza oven. The home sits on a 0.7-acre corner lot at one of the neighborhood’s higher elevations.

Interior design was handled by Krista Watterworth Alterman of Krista + Home. Additional features include a guest apartment and garage space for five cars.

Scherzer, who is currently a free agent after ending last season with the Toronto Blue Jays and posting a 5.19 ERA, has earned $345 million over his career and holds two World Series titles. He told The Athletic he “is healthy and ready to sign at any moment if certain teams call.”

While playing for the New York Mets under a $130 million contract signed in 2021, Scherzer and his wife spent $5 million on a house built in 1950 located on just under four acres in Old Brookville on Long Island, New York. Their appreciation for larger properties influenced their interest in Hobe Sound.
