Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach collaborated with Community Cooperative to host a “Cheeseburger in Paradise” event at Sam’s Community Café & Kitchen in downtown Fort Myers. The event brought together the resort’s Food & Beverage team, Human Resources staff, and General Manager to serve meals including grilled cheeseburgers, coleslaw, fruit, salad, and chips to over 150 clients, volunteers, and staff.

Guests were welcomed with leis and live steel drum music by Orlando Phillips. The event was inspired by Margaritaville team member Kyle French’s vision for a community meal themed after the song “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” which he shared with the Human Resources department more than a year ago. French addressed attendees before lunch was served, noting that the timing coincided with the upcoming Jimmy Buffett Day celebration on August 29.

“Community Cooperative is so thankful to partner with Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach for this fun and meaningful event,” said Tracy Siekman, COO of Community Cooperative. “Beyond serving delicious meals, they created a memorable day filled with joy, music, and connection for our clients and volunteers.”

The partnership took place as part of Margaritaville’s nationwide Day of Giving initiative. This series of community service projects leads up to Jimmy Buffett Day and involves resorts across the country in activities intended to honor Buffett’s legacy.

“Margaritaville is all about creating fun, memorable experiences,” said Yenier Gonzalez Marrero, General Manager of Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach. “Being able to share that spirit with Community Cooperative as part of our Day of Giving is a powerful reminder that paradise isn’t just a place — it’s the joy we create when we come together. We’re proud that our team gets to give back twice in two weeks in Jimmy’s honor.”
