Grammy-winning artist Marc Anthony has sold his condo at One Thousand Museum in downtown Miami for $8.6 million, according to property records and the listing. Anthony, whose full name is Marco Antonio Muñiz, originally purchased the 8,400-square-foot townhouse unit in 2021 for $11 million. The recent sale represents a loss of about 22 percent from the previous purchase price.
The five-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom unit was sold by a trust controlled by Anthony’s manager, Charles Koppelman. The property had been listed last year for $11.4 million and was most recently asking $9.9 million before closing at the lower price on Friday. Shadi LLC, a Delaware-based company, acquired the condo.
Nexxos Realty’s Anamaria Velasquez represented the seller in the transaction, while Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman acted on behalf of the buyer.
Anthony previously sold another South Florida property: his waterfront mansion in Coral Gables’ Cocoplum neighborhood fetched $22.4 million in 2020.
Known as one of the top-selling salsa artists globally, Anthony has sold more than 12 million albums and has received four Grammy Awards and eight Latin Grammy Awards.
One Thousand Museum is recognized for its distinctive exoskeleton design created by the late architect Zaha Hadid. The 62-story tower includes 84 units and was developed by Louis Birdman, Gilberto Bomeny, Kevin Venger, Gregg Covin, and Todd Michael Glaser; it was completed in 2019. The building has attracted several high-profile buyers such as soccer player David Beckham and designer Victoria Beckham.
Earlier this year, hedge fund manager Ken Griffin listed his penthouse at One Thousand Museum for $23 million; it is now being offered at $23.8 million after previously selling for $18 million in 2021.
