LARC, the Lee Association for Remarkable Citizens, is organizing the Fore the Future Youth Golf Challenge on October 25, 2025, at The Golf Club at Crown Colony in Fort Myers. The event is designed for students from grades 1 through 12 and aims to raise funds to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The tournament will use a scramble format and invites players of all skill levels. Participants will have access to various activities including on-course challenges, prizes, lunch, swag items, a commemorative tee shirt, and an awards ceremony.

Angela Katz, LARC Executive Director, said: “This is about kids lifting up our community. When students fundraise and play, they’re helping people gain life skills, find meaningful work, and live more independently. We welcome every level of golfer—because the real win is showing what inclusion, kindness, and youth leadership look like in action.”

Each participating golfer is asked to raise at least $150 to benefit LARC’s programs. The top three fundraisers will receive special prizes. There will also be a hole-in-one challenge offering a Disney vacation for four as a prize.

To reach the fundraising goal of $150 per golfer, suggested strategies include seeking small donations from friends or family members—such as ten friends giving $15 each or fifteen friends giving $10 each—as well as sponsor-per-hole pledges or collecting spare change. Other methods include requesting donations instead of gifts for birthdays or holidays and doing chores for contributions.

Businesses can support the event by becoming sponsors. Sponsorship packages provide promotional opportunities while promoting inclusion within Southwest Florida’s communities.

LARC was founded in 1954 and serves over 300 individuals annually between ages 14 and 83. The organization provides life skills training, vocational education, youth programs, employment services in the community, and operates two residential group homes in Cape Coral.
