Floridians will have the opportunity to securely dispose of sensitive documents at a series of free Shred Day events organized by Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) this fall. The credit union has announced seven events across Central and Southwest Florida, where participants can bring up to six boxes of personal or confidential papers for professional shredding and recycling.

According to LMCU, the initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to help protect members from identity theft. “LMCU is proud to offer this service year after year, and it’s just one of the many ways the credit union protects its members from identity theft,” the organization stated.

The scheduled dates and locations include Fort Myers on October 4, Tampa on October 11, Naples North on October 25, Berkshire Commons in Naples on November 8, and Sun City Center on December 6. All events will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at their respective LMCU branch locations.

Attendees are instructed to stay in their vehicles during the process for safety reasons. Event details may change; updates will be provided on LMCU’s website and social media platforms. Additional information about these and other upcoming Shred Day events can be found at https://www.lmcu.org/Events.
