Investor Edmond Harbour has purchased a waterfront property on Miami Beach’s Sunset Islands for $34 million, acquiring the home at 1821 West 27th Street from Dr. Mark Jaffe and Patricia Jaffe. The transaction was handled by John Sandberg of Compass, who listed the property, and Julian Johnston of the Corcoran Group, who represented the buyer. Johnston declined to comment on Harbour’s plans for the site.

The recent acquisition brings Harbour’s total spending on two adjacent Sunset Islands lots to $60.5 million. Last year, he bought the neighboring property at 1835 West 27th Street for $26.5 million, also with Johnston representing him in that deal. Public records connect Harbour to several entities including Abode18 LLC, Adobe21 LLC, and Metier Capital. In 2022, through Adobe21 LLC, Harbour purchased another waterfront Sunset Islands home at 2121 Lake Avenue for $14.1 million.

The Jaffes originally purchased the Sunset Island II house in 1989 for $1.2 million. The residence is a 6,900-square-foot structure built in 1940 on a 0.6-acre lot, featuring seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and 150 feet of waterfront. The property was marketed as a teardown when it was listed for $37.5 million in September and quickly went under contract.

In recent years, wealthy buyers in South Florida have increasingly sought out neighboring properties to assemble larger estates with enhanced privacy and amenities similar to those found in condominiums. For example, billionaire Patrick Dovigi recently paid $15 million for an adjacent parcel next to his own Sunset Islands mansion.

Harbour’s purchase is part of a series of high-value deals on the Sunset Islands this year. Earlier this month, Alden Global Capital sold a waterfront home for $25.4 million after acquiring it for $9.5 million in 2021. In June, Oren Alexander sold his waterfront mansion for $51.5 million amid ongoing legal issues.
