Fifteen members, staff, and activists from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) participated in an advanced Organizing III training program at the Winpisinger Center in late March.
The training is designed to strengthen the skills of union representatives so they can effectively teach organizing strategies within their local chapters. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the continued growth and vitality of the labor movement.
During the week-long session, participants from a range of industries—including air transport, aerospace, and automotive—worked together to master various teaching techniques and learning styles. The course focused on refining communication abilities that are essential for leading successful organizing committees.
A video report was produced highlighting key moments from the program. According to organizers, this training aims to equip union members with practical tools for engaging their peers and fostering strong leadership within their Locals.
By preparing more representatives to lead organizing efforts, IAM seeks to support long-term strength across its diverse membership base.
