The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Union announced on Mar. 26 that it will host the 2026 Kourpias K-9 Classic motorcycle ride from July 10 to July 12, with proceeds supporting Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines.

The event aims to raise funds for guide dog services benefiting visually impaired individuals, veterans, and families affected by autism. The annual ride is presented by the IAM Union Western Territory and encourages union members, districts, locals, and employers to participate or donate.

This year’s route will take riders through various landscapes in Washington state including Puget Sound, mountain passes, river valleys, orchards, vineyards, and North Cascades National Park. Robert “Bobby” Martinez said: “The IAM Western Territory is proud to host this year’s traditional Kourpias K9 Classic motorcycle ride to support our union’s favorite charity, GDA | TLC. This ride is so important to so many of our IAM members who are proud to contribute to a cause that brings us together in service.”

Supporters can contribute at several donation levels such as Puppy Treats ($100), Nose Boop ($500), Raise the Woof ($1,000), or through corporate sponsorships ranging from $5,000 up to $75,000—the latter covering the average cost of a service dog and providing premium recognition.

Organizers encourage locals and members to get involved by forming teams for the ride or making donations. The event also invites companies and individuals interested in sponsorship opportunities.

As preparations continue for the July event in Washington state’s scenic locations, organizers hope participation will help expand access to guide dogs for those who need them.
