IAM opens applications for its 2026 scholarship competition

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will begin accepting applications for its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition on October 1, 2025. The application period will remain open until Friday, February 6, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Applications are to be submitted online.

Eligibility for the competition includes IAM members with at least two years of continuous service and their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada.

According to the IAM, “Out of the 300+ applicants in 2025, the IAM awarded 16 scholarships valued at $4,000 per student to members and their children. The IAM has a vocational-technical two-year scholarship for members and their children which is also included in the scholarship awards.”

The organization noted that “The IAM Scholarship Fund, used exclusively to make these awards possible, was established by the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention delegates.”
