IAM members employed by Greyhound have approved a new three-year collective bargaining agreement. The contract, which applies to Greyhound workers across the United States, includes wage increases of 3.75% in the first year, 3.5% in the second year, and 3.25% in the third year.
Health and welfare contributions will rise gradually throughout the contract period, while maintaining the current cost-sharing structure for the IAM Healthcare Plan. The agreement also features a revised vacation schedule with reduced years of service requirements, an increased commercial driver’s license (CDL) premium, higher tool allowances, and a $50 reimbursement for prescription safety glasses.
Additional changes include aligning open enrollment periods with contract renewals and introducing a new recognition and pay system for Junior Master and Master Technicians. These positions will receive premium pay above journeyman rates based on ASE certifications.
“This was a challenging negotiation due to Greyhound’s transition to its new parent company Flix SE, but our team secured the best contract to date for our members,” said IAM Automotive Director Craig Hughes. “I want to thank IAM leadership for expanding our department and bringing on Special Representative Heather Hildebrand. Heather did an outstanding job leading these negotiations for the first time.”
Heather Hildebrand commented on her experience leading the negotiations: “Our members stood strong, and we delivered real gains in pay, benefits, and career opportunities,” said Hildebrand. “It was an honor to lead this negotiation alongside such a committed bargaining committee. This agreement reflects the strength of IAM members at Greyhound and the value they bring to the company every day.”
