Councilperson Teresa Watkins Brown of Fort Myers has been appointed to two key committees within the Florida League of Cities (FLC) for the 2025-2026 term. Her appointments to the Federal Action Strike Team (FAST) and the Advocacy Committees were approved by FLC President Holly D. Smith.

According to a statement from the City of Fort Myers, these roles recognize Councilperson Watkins Brown’s dedication and leadership in representing Florida municipalities at both state and federal levels. The FAST Committee is responsible for promoting federal policies that support local governments, while the Advocacy Committee shapes legislative priorities for cities across Florida.

“The City applauds Councilperson Watkins Brown’s continued leadership and service. Her involvement in these statewide committees ensures that our community remains engaged and informed on critical legislative matters,” the statement read.
