Fort Myers – Islands, Beaches and Neighborhoods announced on March 31 that it hosted a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photoshoot for the magazine’s annual print issue, featuring locations across Captiva Island, Sanibel Island, Cayo Costa State Park and Pine Island Sound.

The partnership brings national attention to the region’s beaches and landscapes through the widely recognized Sports Illustrated Swimsuit platform. The magazine’s digital edition launched March 31 with print publication scheduled for May.

The photoshoot featured models Orlandria, Christen Goff, Katie Austin, Ellie Thumann, Jasmine Sanders, Gabi Moura and Jena Sims. Tamara Pigott, executive director of Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau said: “Partnering with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit in bringing these all-star models to some of our most naturally beautiful settings to capture the laid-back essence of Southwest Florida has been an incredible experience. From resorts and state parks to our iconic beaches, there is an undeniable energy here — a special vibe that sparks curiosity and adventure while welcoming visitors with open arms. We’re proud to share what makes the Fort Myers area so special with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit readers, and hope the photoshoot inspires their next vacation to visit our sunny shores.”

According to plans presented at a Jan. 8 Lee County Tourist Development Council meeting by Brian Ososky, chief marketing officer for the Visitor & Convention Bureau, the shoot took place at well-known spots including South Seas on Captiva Island, Sanibel Lighthouse and Bowman’s Beach Park. Models were also photographed aboard a sailboat with Sundance Sailing and explored historic Fish Shacks in Pine Island Sound.

The Fort Myers area offers over 50 miles of white-sand beaches along with nature preserves and historic landmarks. It is described as an oasis suited for families or travelers seeking wildlife viewing opportunities or relaxing vacations.

Sports Illustrated describes its swimsuit issue as an influential pop culture platform that celebrates diversity in beauty standards worldwide while serving as a launchpad for careers across media industries.
