A new multi-use path is being developed on Hill Avenue in Fort Myers as part of a collaborative effort between state, county, and city agencies. The project aims to improve safety and accessibility for both pedestrians and cyclists.

The planned path will be 12 feet wide and made of asphalt. It will extend from the entrance of the Fort Myers Country Club on Hill Avenue to Golf View Avenue, with an additional branch linking to the current sidewalk along Hill Avenue. Officials say there will be no lane closures or disruptions to vehicular or pedestrian traffic during construction.

Temporary plastic barriers have been placed along the golf course for safety reasons during the construction period. These barriers are expected to be removed once work is completed. The project also includes updated landscaping to maintain the area’s appearance.

The anticipated completion date for the new pathway is by 2026.

“Thank you for your patience as we continue to invest in safer, more connected pathway for our residents and visitors!”
