Florida’s high school graduation rate has reached a new record, with 92.2% of students graduating in the 2024-25 school year. Governor Ron DeSantis announced the achievement during the State of the State address. The latest figures show an increase of 2.5 percentage points over the previous year and a total rise of 4.9 percentage points since the 2021-22 academic year.
Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas commented on the accomplishment, stating, “Florida’s historic graduation rate reflects the power of Governor DeSantis’ strong leadership, clear expectations, and unwavering commitment to student success. These achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished when we uphold rigorous standards, provide robust support to schools and prepare every student for success beyond graduation.”
State officials attribute this progress to policies emphasizing high standards, accountability, parental rights, and broader educational options for families across Florida. They highlight that these measures are part of a wider effort to ensure all students are prepared for further education or entry into careers after finishing high school.
