Florida Chamber Foundation releases top high-demand careers list for regions across state

The Florida Chamber Foundation’s Future of Work Florida initiative has released its Top 30 High-Demand Careers list for each region in the state. The list is based on projections from FloridaCommerce and highlights jobs that are expected to see strong growth and replacement needs, with wages at or above the current state median of $22.53 per hour or $46,860 annually.

The careers featured span several industries, including healthcare, information technology, education, business and professional services, architecture and construction, transportation and logistics, and hospitality. For each job listed, the report includes projected income as well as training pathways. Of the top 30 careers in each region, 15 require a bachelor’s degree while 13 call for postsecondary training or certification.

It is a call to action for communities across Florida to invest in education and workforce development now so that every Floridian has access to meaningful career opportunities that strengthen our state’s competitiveness.”

The list is presented at both the state and regional levels and serves as a key resource for the Future of Work Florida initiative. The program focuses on aligning education with industry needs and preparing Floridians for current and future jobs by increasing awareness and collaboration among students, parents, educators, and businesses.

The Future of Work Florida initiative aims to create the nation’s top workforce by 2030 by uniting businesses with workforce and education partners to address evolving talent needs. By aligning educational programs with industry demands through strategic partnerships with employers, schools, and policymakers, the initiative seeks to strengthen Florida’s talent pipeline and drive economic growth.
