Florida has reported its highest high school graduation rate on record, reaching 92.2% for the 2024-25 academic year. The announcement was made by Governor Ron DeSantis during the State of the State address.
The new figure represents an increase of 2.5 percentage points from the previous year and a total rise of 4.9 percentage points since the 2021-22 school year. According to state officials, this continued growth demonstrates progress in Florida’s education system under current leadership.
Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas stated, “Florida’s historic graduation rate reflects the power of Governor DeSantis’ strong leadership, clear expectations, and unwavering commitment to student success. These achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished when we uphold rigorous standards, provide robust support to schools and prepare every student for success beyond graduation.”
State leaders attribute these results to policies that emphasize high standards, accountability measures, parental rights, and expanded educational options for families across Florida. They highlight a focus on ensuring all students are prepared for further education or careers after high school.
