The Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) community recently saw high engagement at its Service-Learning Fair, with 851 students attending the event on September 2, 2025. Organizers have encouraged participating agencies to maintain contact with students they met and to communicate ongoing opportunities for involvement.

Looking ahead, applications are open for agencies wishing to participate in “Make a Difference Day,” scheduled for October 25, 2025. The application window closes on September 15, and selected organizations will be notified by October 1.

Additionally, FGCU is offering a Fall Community Partner Workshop on October 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The workshop aims to assist both new and existing partners as they plan their service initiatives and provides an opportunity for networking among agencies. Registration is available online through the university’s campus engagement portal.

Agencies working in Hendry and Glades counties are also invited to attend the Resource Road Show at the LaBelle Civic Center on September 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is intended to facilitate resource sharing and partnership development among local organizations.
