Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) has announced several updates and opportunities for its community partners as the fall semester begins. The university expressed appreciation to those who participated in the recent Service-Learning Fair, which saw a record attendance of 851 students. Community partners are encouraged to follow up with students they met at the event to discuss immediate and future volunteer opportunities.

FGCU also highlighted that applications for Make a Difference Day, scheduled for October 25, 2025, will close on September 15. Agencies interested in hosting volunteers can apply before the deadline. Selected agencies will be notified by October 1.

In addition, FGCU is offering a free Fall Community Partner Workshop on October 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The workshop aims to assist both new and returning partners in planning for their organizational needs and provides an opportunity to connect with other agencies.

Agencies serving Glades and Hendry counties have been invited to attend the Resource Road Show at the LaBelle Civic Center on September 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. This event is intended to help organizations share resources, build networks, and explore local partnerships.
