The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) has released its weekly update on events and activities taking place in Fort Myers and surrounding areas from February 23 to March 1. Residents and visitors can find more details about upcoming events at the official tourism website, visitfortmyers.com.
Several ongoing tours and experiences are available throughout the week. Adventures in Paradise offers nightly cruises departing from Port Comfort Road in Fort Myers, with tickets ranging from $39 to $49. Butterfly House tours take place at Rotary Park in Cape Coral on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with donations accepted for entry.
For those interested in nature excursions, the Everglades Day Safari departs daily from Fort Myers and Estero, running from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at a cost of $200 per person. Tarpon Bay Explorers hosts kayak tours every Wednesday morning on Sanibel Island, with adult tickets priced at $40 and children’s tickets at $35.
True Tours provides a variety of guided history walks through downtown Fort Myers. These include cemetery tours, haunted history walks, River District history tours, and themed events such as “Weird Fort Myers History.” Reservations are required for these tours.
Cultural venues across the region are also hosting exhibits and performances during this period. The Alliance for the Arts is open on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers; Americana Community Music Association holds events at All Faiths Unitarian; Arts Bonita operates two locations in Bonita Springs; Bayside Park features a concert series on Fort Myers Beach; Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre presents shows on Colonial Boulevard; Florida Repertory Theatre is active on Bay Street; and Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center offers programs downtown.
Podcasts highlighting local culture are available as well. The Lee County VCB produces “Shellcast,” which discusses Southwest Florida attractions and is accessible through major podcast platforms or directly at VisitFortMyers.com/shellcast. The Sanibel Captiva Guide Podcast features interviews with local residents about island life. Additionally, Otocast provides an audio guide app featuring more than 30 historic sites around Fort Myers.
