Duke Energy Florida employees have contributed over $1 million to local communities in 2025 through a combination of direct donations, volunteer service, and matching funds from the Duke Energy Foundation. From January to November, employees gave more than $293,000 to various causes and volunteered nearly 11,000 hours. The value of these volunteer hours is estimated at over $380,000. The Duke Energy Foundation matched employee donations and volunteer time with an additional $387,000.
Melissa Seixas, state president of Duke Energy Florida, said: “Caring for our customers is intrinsic to the work Duke Energy employees do every day, so it’s no surprise that they would choose to continue giving back however they can. I’m proud to work alongside these incredibly generous men and women who are living out our company’s core principles, and in turn, creating real, tangible value for the people and communities we serve.”
In addition to supporting employee contributions, the Duke Energy Foundation invested further in its 35-county service area during the year. These investments included $300,000 for climate resiliency projects, $789,000 for higher education support at colleges and universities, $163,000 in emergency preparedness grants and resiliency initiatives, as well as $125,000 aimed at addressing food insecurity.
Duke Energy Florida has also stated its commitment to helping customers manage rising costs by keeping its own expenses under control and offering resources for savings on energy bills. More information about ways to save can be found at duke-energy.com/SeasonalSavings.
