The Corcoran Group announced on Mar. 9 that Mercedes Saewitz has been named its regional vice president for Florida.
This appointment places Saewitz in charge of Corcoran’s Miami Beach and Surfside offices, while also supporting the company’s other locations across the state, including Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Hobe Sound, 30A, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, and Panama City. The move comes amid ongoing changes in South Florida real estate leadership following recent mergers and executive departures.
Saewitz brings more than 25 years of industry experience to her new role. She previously founded M Realty in 2003 before selling it in 2007 and joining One Sotheby’s International Realty. In 2015, she became a founding agent at Compass’s Miami office and later rose to principal broker of Florida as well as national head representative of brokers at Compass. She left Compass last year to serve as senior vice president of operations at Aperture Global Real Estate.
“When you get a call from Pam Liebman, it’s sort of a career-defining moment,” Saewitz said about being approached by Corcoran’s CEO. “She’s someone you don’t say no to.”
Saewitz said her focus will be on agent experience and support in her new position. She expressed ambitions for rapid growth within the firm: “I’d love to see Corcoran double agent count in a year,” she said. Regarding expansion into new markets, she added that it would depend on where leadership saw opportunity but noted, “I have a lot of dream-bigs.”
The appointment reflects ongoing shifts within the competitive Florida real estate market as firms seek experienced leaders to guide their regional strategies.
