The U.S. Census Bureau announced on March 10 that it will provide a two-day embargo period for qualified media to access the Vintage 2025 population estimates for U.S. counties, metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas, as well as Puerto Rico municipios. The embargo period is scheduled from Tuesday, March 24 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time until Thursday, March 26 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time.

This embargo allows members of the media early access to data reflecting population changes between April 1, 2020, and July 1, 2025. The information includes total population figures and demographic components of change for various regions across the United States and Puerto Rico.

During the embargo period, subscribers may interview Census Bureau experts by requesting an appointment via email. Access to the embargoed data requires registration through the Census Bureau’s embargo site. Subscribers are advised to confirm their login credentials by March 23 to ensure uninterrupted access.

The Census Bureau emphasized that any information obtained during the embargo must not be published, broadcast, posted online, or distributed in any form before the public release date and time on Thursday, March 26 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time.

For assistance with embargo access or technical issues, subscribers can contact the Census Bureau via email.
