The U.S. Census Bureau has announced new data-sharing agreements with Brigham Young University-Idaho and the University of North Carolina System for its Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) experimental data product. The PSEO provides information on earnings and employment outcomes for graduates, categorized by degree level, major, institution, and state. This resource is used by students, parents, educational institutions, and workforce agencies to understand labor market results for college graduates.
With the addition of these two partners, data from 17 more post-secondary institutions will be included in the PSEO. This update brings total coverage to 952 institutions and covers about 35% of all college graduates in the United States.
The PSEO relies on partnerships between universities, state education departments, labor market offices, and the Census Bureau. Data is created by linking graduate transcript records with Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics data. Users can access this information through the PSEO Explorer tool, raw files, or via the Census API.
