French luxury brand Cartier has opened a new boutique in Palm Beach. The store is located at 70 Royal Poinciana Plaza, within the historic Royal Poinciana Playhouse, according to a news release from Cartier. The Paris-based company, founded nearly two centuries ago and led by Cyrille Vigneron, is recognized for its jewelry, watches, leather goods, fragrances, and accessories.
The Royal Poinciana Plaza covers 192,000 square feet and was developed in the 1950s. Its playhouse was completed in 1958 and designed by architect John Volk in the Regency Revival style. The plaza is owned by a trust led by Sidney Spiegel while WS Development holds the leasehold rights.
Cartier’s arrival follows recent leases signed at Royal Poinciana Plaza by Hill House Home (an apparel and home goods retailer), Swedish candy shop ScandyCandy, and British childrenswear store La Coqueta. Details about the exact size of Cartier’s leased space were not disclosed.
