Reconstruction efforts are progressing at Beachview Villas, signaling continued recovery for the island community after Hurricane Ian destroyed the original Beachview Cottages in 2022. The new luxury development is being built on the same site and represents an ongoing effort by Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts (SCBR) to restore valued locations for both residents and visitors.
SCBR has a long history of involvement in the hospitality sector on Sanibel and Captiva, focusing on responsible development that maintains the islands’ distinctive qualities. The project was previously known as White Pelican Villas.
“Having acquired Beachview in 1979, we are proud to honor the property’s rich heritage while thoughtfully rebuilding for the future,” said Tony Lapi, President and Chairman of the Board of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts.
The upcoming villas will feature upscale accommodations aimed at providing guests with privacy and comfort. Plans include spacious units with full kitchens, large indoor and outdoor living areas, and communal spaces designed for families and groups.
A dedicated website for Beachview Villas has been launched at https://beachview-villas.com/, offering information about the project and an option to receive updates. Reservations are scheduled to begin in spring 2026, with an expected opening date set for summer 2026.
Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts operates several properties on Sanibel and Captiva Islands, including ‘Tween Waters Inn. The company emphasizes respect for local culture and thoughtful guest experiences. More details can be found at their main website.
