Restaurateur Barton G. Weiss has sold his waterfront mansion on Sunset Island II in Miami Beach for $29.3 million, following a significant price reduction from the original $39.5 million listing in March. The buyer is an LLC managed by David Moradi, CEO of accessibility software company AudioEye and founder of Sero Capital, a private investment firm based in Miami.

Jill and Danny Hertzberg of the Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker Realty represented the seller, while Marko Gojanovic and Reid Heidenry of One Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer.

Weiss, known for his Barton G. restaurants in Miami and Los Angeles, purchased the property at 1535 West 27th Street for $1 million in 1994. He built the main house, which spans 12,200 square feet with nine bedrooms and nine bathrooms, in 2009. The estate also includes a pool, guest house, dock, and 100 feet of waterfront.

The home was listed for $39.5 million earlier this year before being reduced to $34.5 million in April; it went under contract in July as luxury deals in Miami Beach have seen larger price cuts amid a cooling market.

Recent activity on Sunset Islands highlights ongoing interest from luxury buyers: a spec home listed at $18 million recently went under contract; architect Chad Oppenheim secured a buyer for his waterfront mansion at an asking price of $27 million last November; and investor Edmond Harbour acquired a neighboring teardown for $34 million in October, bringing his total investment on the islands to $60.5 million.
